Trump finally concedes defeat, will leave the office on January 20

Washington: United States President Donald Trump has finally conceded his defeat in the last year’s presidential election. He also agreed to hand over power to the newly elected President Joe Biden. The statement of Trump came after a joint session of the US Congress certified Democrat Joe Biden’s and Kamla Harris victory in the US Presidential Election held on November 3 last year. Trump also said that there will be an orderly transfer of power to Joe Biden on January 20, on Thursday.

Trump, however has still not stopped making accusations of rigging in the US presidential election. “Even though I totally disagree with the outcome of the election, and the facts bear me out, nevertheless there will be an orderly transition on January 20th. I have always said we would continue our fight to ensure that only legal votes were counted,” Trump said.

Trump added, “While this represents the end of the greatest first term in presidential history, it’s only the beginning of our fight to Make America Great Again!”

Trump has provoked his supporters to march on the Capitol to protest lawmakers’ actions, and later appeared to excuse the violent occupation of the Capitol by the mob, which forced its way inside, clashed with police and ransacked offices.

Authorities said that four people died during the violence. One woman was shot by an officer outside the House chamber, and three others died in “medical emergencies” during the occupation of the building, Washington, D.C., police said.

अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति चुनावों के नतीजे आ चुके हैं और वाइट हाउस की कमान अब डेमोक्रैट कैंडिडेट जो बाइडेन के हांथों में आना तय है। बाइडेन ने रिपब्लिकन कैंडिडेट डोनाल्ड ट्रंप को पीछे छोड़ते हुए पेंसिल्वेनिया अपने नाम कर लिया। इसके साथ ही उन्हें जरूरी 270 इलेक्टोरल वोट मिल गए।

जीत की रिपोर्ट्स सामने आने के बाद बाइडेन ने ट्वीट किया-‘अमेरिका, मैं बहुत सम्मानित महसूस कर रहा हूं कि आपने देश के नेतृत्व के लिए मुझे चुना है। हमारे आगे का काम मुश्किल होगा लेकिन मैं वादा करता हूं कि मैं सभी देशवासियों का राष्ट्रपति रहूंगा- चाहे आपने मुझे वोट किया हो चा नहीं। आपने जो भरोसा मुझपर दिखाया है, उसे मैं पूरा करूंगा।’ बता दें कि पेंसिल्वेनिया में ट्रंप आगे चल रहे थे लेकिन जैसे-जैसे मेल-इन बैलेट की गिनती की गई, वैसे-वैसे बाइडेन आगे निकलते गए। इससे पहले खबरें आ रही थीं कि फिलेडेल्फिया में फर्जी बैलेट ले जाने के आरोप में कुछ लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

अमेरिका में पहली महिला उपराष्ट्रपति बनेंगी कमला हैरिस

कमला हैरिस ने अमेरिकी उपराष्ट्रपति चुनाव जीत वे ऐसा करने वाली पहली महिला, पहली अश्वेत अमेरिकी और पहली एशियाई अमेरिकी बन गई हैं।

बता दें कि कमला हैरिस के माता और पिता भारत और जमैका से आए थे। कमला ने अपनी पार्टी की ओर से 2020 के राष्ट्रपति चुनाव के लिए नामांकन किया था और पार्टी के दूसरे उम्मीदवारों बिडेन और अन्य का मुकाबला किया था। हालांकि वे पिछले साल दिसंबर में राष्ट्रपति पद की दौड़ से बाहर हो गईं थीं।

दुनिया भर में तबाही मैच चुकी कोरोना महामारी इस समय सभी देशों के लिए बड़ी चुनौती बनी हुई है। चीन से शुरू हुए इस वायरस ने अमरीका, रूम, जर्मनी, इटली, भारत, यूके समेत लगभग सभी देशों को अपनी चपेट में ले लिया है। इसी मसले पर जब संयुक्त राष्ट्र ने बैठक बुलाई तो अमेरिका और चीन यहां पर भी आमने-सामने आ गए। अबतक अमेरिका UN-WHO के रोल पर सवाल खड़े कर रहा था, तो वहीं चीन ने यहां बैठक में दोनों की जमकर तारीफ की।

बैठक में क्या बोला चीन ?

कोरोना वायरस के मसले पर संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद ने गुरुवार को एक महाबैठक बुलाई, ये बैठक वर्चुअल थी. चीन ने यहां बैठक में कहा कि कोरोना वायरस एक ग्लोबल चुनौती है, जिसमें संयुक्त राष्ट्र और विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन की ओर से जो अगुवाई की जा रही है चीन उसकी तारीफ करता है.


चीन की ओर से कहा गया कि कोरोना वायरस हर किसी के लिए खतरा है, जिसमें सभी को साथ आकर काम करना होगा. चीन संयुक्त राष्ट्र की उस अपील का भी समर्थन करता है, जहां उसने सभी देशों से अपने मतभेद भुलाकर पहले Covid-19 से लड़ने की बात कही. चीन ने यहां कहा कि चीन में जब कोरोना वायरस का संकट था, तब कई देशों ने उनकी मदद की. अब वो 100 से अधिक देशों को मदद पहुंचा रहे हैं.

बैठक में क्या बोला अमरीका?

अमेरिका की ओर से एक बार फिर यहां बैठक में चीन की नीयत पर सवाल खड़े किए गए. अमेरिका ने कहा कि इस संकट के वक्त में जरूरत है कि पारदर्शिता रखी जाए, ताकि हर कोई सच्चाई जान सके. अमेरिका ने दावा किया कि वह इस वक्त दुनिया के अलग-अलग देशों के साथ मिलकर कोरोना वायरस के खिलाफ लड़ाई लड़ रहा है.


बता दें कि अमेरिका की तरफ से पहले भी आरोप लगाया गया था कि चीन और विश्व स्वास्थ्य संगठन ने मिलकर कोरोना वायरस की सच्चाई को छिपाया था, जिसका खामियाजा दुनिया भुगत रही है. इस बैठक में भी अमेरिका ने इस बात को दोहराया और अपील करते हुए कहा कि हर देश को सच के साथ सामने आने की जरूरत है.

Trump blames teleprompter for his ‘airport’ debacle

President Donald Trump blamed a faulty teleprompter for his claim during remarks he made at a July 4th event that the Continental Army “took over the airports” during the Revolutionary War. He was severely mocked for the flub as aeroplane was invented in 1903.

“The teleprompter went out,” Trump told reporters as he left the White House for a weekend at his golf club in Bedminster, New Jersey.

“It just went out – it went kaput.”

During his Independence Day speech paying tribute to the military, Trump sowed confusion when he began talking about air defenses during the American Revolution, which took place more than a century before the invention of the airplane.

“Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports,” Trump said of the fighting force created by the Continental Congress in 1775.

Trump didn’t even acknowledge the mistake, instead he boasted about his memory. Trump said it wasn’t pleasant to see the scrolling stop as he was delivering his highly anticipated speech.

“That’s not a good feeling when you’re standing in front of millions and millions of people,” he said. “I guess the rain knocked out the teleprompter.”

Still, he said his memory of the speech otherwise served him well. “I knew the speech very well so I was able to do it without a teleprompter,” he said. “And it was actually hard to look at anyway because of the rain.”

“In June of 1775, the Continental Congress created a unified Army out of the Revolutionary Forces encamped around Boston and New York, and named after the great George Washington, commander in chief. The Continental Army suffered a bitter winter of Valley Forge, found glory across the waters of the Delaware and seized victory from Cornwallis of Yorktown.

“Our Army manned the air, it rammed the ramparts, it took over the airports, it did everything it had to do, and at Fort McHenry, under the rocket’s red glare it had nothing but victory. And when dawn came, their star-spangled banner waved defiant.”

भारत पर अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति ट्रंप के तंज ने सत्ताधारी भाजपा और विपक्षी कांग्रेस दोनों को एक साथ ला दिया है। युद्ध से त्रस्त देश में एक पुस्तकालय के वित्त पोषण को लेकर अमेरिका के राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रंप द्वारा प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी पर तंज कसने को आधिकारिक सूत्रों ने खारिज कर दिया। कांग्रेस ने भी ट्रंप पर निशाना साधते हुए कहा कि अफगानिस्तान में विकास कार्यों के संदर्भ में भारत को अमेरिका से उपदेश की जरूरत नहीं है।

कांग्रेस के मुख्य प्रवक्ता रणदीप सुरजेवाला ने ट्वीट कर कहा कि प्रिय ट्रंप, भारत के प्रधानमंत्री का मजाक बनाना बंद करिए। अफगानिस्तान पर भारत को अमेरिका के उपदेश की जरूरत नहीं है। मनमोहन सिंह के प्रधानमंत्री रहते हुए भारत ने अफगानिसतान में नेशनल असेंबली की इमारत बनाने में मदद की। मानवीय जरूरतों से लेकर रणनीतिक-आर्थिक साझेदारी तक, हम अफगान भाइयों एवं बहनों के साथ हैं।

वहीं कांग्रेस के वरिष्ठ नेता अहमद पटेल ने कहा कि भारत के प्रधानमंत्री के बारे में अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति की टिप्पणी ठीक नहीं है और यह अस्वीकार्य है। हम आशा करते हैं कि सरकार सख्ती से इसका जवाब देगी और अमेरिका को यह याद दिलाएगी कि भारत ने अफगानिस्तान में बड़े पैमाने पर सड़कें एवं बांध बनवाएं हैं तथा तीन अरब डॉलर के मदद की प्रतिबद्धता भी जताई है।’’
