देश में कोरोना का कहर बरकरार है। ऐसे में बीते दिनों 5 राज्यों में चुनाव हुए है । वहीं आज पश्चिम बंगाल, असम, केरल समेत पांच राज्यों में विधानसभा चुनाव के नतीजे काफी हद तक साफ हो चुके है। बंगाल में ममता बनर्जी लगातार तीसरी बार सत्ता में वापसी करती दिख रही है। असम में बीजेपी के नेतृत्व वाली एनडीए वापसी कर रही है। केरल में भी सीपीआई (एम) के नेतृत्व वाली लेफ्ट डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (एलडीएफ) की वापसी हो रही हैम वहीं तमिलनाडु में सत्ता पलट रही है और कांग्रेस-डीएमके गठबंधन बहुमत से सरकार बना रही है। पुद्दुचेरी में अभी तक के रुझानों के अनुसार एनडीए सरकार बना रही है।

पश्चिम बंगाल में ममता बनर्जी हैट्रिक बनाने की ओर अग्रसर है। रुझानों में टीएमसी 208 सीटों की बढ़त के साथ सबसे बड़ी पार्टी के रूप में उभरी है। नंदीग्राम की सीट भी ममता बचाती नजर आ रही है। वहीं बीजेपी डबल डिजिट से भी कम महज 81 सीटों पर सिमटती दिख रही है। बीजेपी के तमाम बड़े नेता भी अपनी सीट हार रहे है।
असम में बीजेपी अपना गढ़ बचाने में कामयाब होती दिख रही है। रुझानों में सत्तारूढ़ एनडीए को 78 सीटों पर बढ़त मिली है जबकि कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व में बने महागठबंधन को 47 सीटों पर बढ़त हासिल हुई है। असम में सरकार बनाने के लिए 64 सीटों की जरूरत होती है।
तमिलनाडु में बीजेपी और एआईएडीएमके का गठबंधन है। यहां पिछले 10 सालों से एआईएडीएमके काबिज है। लेकिन इस बार यहां सत्ता पलट रही है। पूर्व मुख्यमंत्री रहे एम करुणानिधि की पार्टी डीएमके सत्ता पर काबिज होती दिख रही है।रुझानों में एआईएडीएमके गठबंधन महज 84 सीटों से आगे है जबकि डीएमके गठबंधन ने 149 सीटों पर बढ़त बना रखी है।
केरल में विधानसभा की 140 सीटें है। वर्तमान में यहां सीपीआई (एम) के नेतृत्व वाले लेफ्ट डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (एलडीएफ) की सरकार है।और इस बार भी एलडीएफ दोबारा सत्ता में आ सकती है। रुझानों में एलडीएफ 98 और कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाला यूनाइटेड डेमोक्रेटिक फ्रंट (यूडीएफ) 41 सीटों से आगे है।वहीं तीसरे मोर्चे बीजेपी को एक ही सीट मिलती नजर आ रही है।
पुडुचेरी एक केंद्र शासित प्रदेश है। कुल 30 सीटों वाले पुडुचेरी में एनडीए की सरकार बन सकती है। 12 सीटों पर आए रुझानों के अनुसार, यहां एनडीए 8 सीटे और यूपीए को 3 सीटे मिल रही है। यहां बहुमत के लिए 16 सीटें चाहिए। चुनाव शुरू होने से कुछ महीने पहले यहां कांग्रेस-डीएमके गठबंधन की सरकार गिर गई थी।

Tamil Nadu, one of the top 10 automobile hubs in the world, is facing a massive auto industry crisis due to dipping of vehicular demand in the country. Around 5000 contractual employees have been retrenched till now in the state due to this unprecedented slowdown.
The major causes of these slowdowns have been determined as Indian government’s policies and the global economic slowdown. This slowdown has also resulted in the decrease in production all over the state. Major companies like Nissan, Hyundai, BMW, Daimler, Yamaha and TVS have their bases in the state. Because of it’s scale, the industry is one of the biggest employers in the state and the slowdown has raised a storm for the common people.
While the sales of TVS motor companies was 321179 units in July 2018, this year the sales was only 279465 units.
Hyundai has had no retrenchments till now, but there are indications that the situation will change for the worse.
This July turned out to be the worse for the auto sector as they hit their lowest mark in sales in 19 years all over India. The sales fell by 31% to 200790 vehicles last month from 290931 units a year earlier.

The election in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, might get canceled

Election Commission has been rejuvenated. Yesterday, they put a temporary ban on Yogi Adityanath and Mayawati. Today, they are planning to cancel polls in Vellore, Tamil Nadu. The reason is simple – abuse of money power. Seizures of cash from DMK leaders over the last two weeks inspired them to recommend this extreme solution to the President of India.

Vellore is scheduled to go to polls with the rest of Tamil Nadu on April 18. It is unclear whether the two Assembly seats, Ambur and Gudiyattam, under the Vellore LS seat, facing bypolls will also be countermanded or go as planned on Thursday. Once notified by the President. If it happens, Vellore would be the first Lok Sabha seat to have had its elections countermanded over abuse of money power.

Tamil Nadu is quite notorious for the money power-play. In 2017, EC had countermanded elections to the Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar Assembly seat in Tamil Nadu twice. In April 2016, during the TN Assembly elections, the EC postponed polls in Aravakurichi and Thanjavur, after cash running into crores was recovered from sites belonging to persons close to the AIADMK.

The EC’s recommendation was sent in wake of cash seizures from the premises of DMK veteran leader and party treasurer Duraimurugan’s son Kathir Anand’s house in Vellore on March 29. Subsequently, on April 1, based on information that illegal cash was being moved from a college owned by the Duraimurugan family to a cement warehouse in Vellore, a second I-T search was launched and Rs 11.53 crore was seized.

Parties are raining the cash in election despite the Election Commission’s guidelines on expenditure on a constituency. If such things persist, then the elections would again become the power play of money. Election Commission was dormant in the past but now active and ferocious like a tiger. Let’s see if the elections in India improve and become fair.
