Bhopal: BJP workers protested at party office on Wednesday against the violence allegedly unleashed by the TMC workers post party’s win in West Bengal Assembly elections. Several senior BJP leaders including Home Minister Narottam Mishra, BJP State President VD Sharma, Union Minister Pahlad Patel and Agriculture Minister Kamal Patel sat on the strike shouting slogans against Mamata Banerjee.

After the declaration of West Bengal Assembly election results on May 2, the politics of revenge has started in the state. The ruling TMC workers resorted to violence targeting the BJP workers across state. Allegedly they are killing BJP workers and burning their houses, shops and places of business.

Home Minister Narottam Mishra said that the workers of Bharatiya Janata Party were protesting there under the leadership of BJP National President JP Nadda. “Today, Violence is rampant under the leadership of Mamata Banerjee and they are killing innocent people based on their political affiliation”, he added.

He further said, “the Bharatiya Janata Party is demonstrating against the land mafia, sand mafia which have grown in the last 10 years of Mamata’s rule along with the violence that has become a common thing. We demand that military rule should be imposed in Bengal”.

State President VD Sharma said, “Today, the sit-in demonstration is being done under the leadership of Nadda ji. Our party workers from Bengal are not alone. They have our full support and this Gunda Raj of didi will not be tolerated”.

Forest Range officer in Telangana thrashed by TRS workers for planting trees

Planting trees is a noble act and should be rewarded. In Telangana, the reward was violence. In a disturbing video, forest range officer C Anita, defenceless, is seen stand on a tractor as a group of angry political workers surround her and land blows on her and the tractor with huge wooden sticks. Sixteen people, including the brother of a TRS legislator, have been arrested.

Among those attacking Anita is Koneru Krishna, vice chairperson of the local zilla parishad and also brother of local Sirpur segment legislator Koneru Konappa.

The mob continues its attack even as other police officers try to shield her and push them away.

The issue was the villagers thought that the government is trying to capture the land which they were cultivating illegally. Sources say tension had been building up over this issue for the last few days and anticipating trouble, the forest range officer had gone along with 30 policemen and 30 forest guards.

Even as Ms Anita was explaining that they were following the instructions of the government, the mob, which included farmers, did not stop the attack. The police didn’t take the required actions. When asked why none of the armed police personnel tried to stop the attack, Mr Reddy said, “The attack on the officer happened too fast. Why no one fired, we need to inquire. But firing may have been a disproportionate reaction,” he said.

The plantation drive, aimed at afforestation, is part of the Kaleshwaram irrigation project of the state government which Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao calls his “second-biggest dream”.

After Christchurch, Utrecht in Netherlands witness another gun violence

The world was just recovering from the ferociously insane a human can go after Christchurch, picturesque Dutch city of Utrecht saw a gun violence incident in public place. Three people were killed and nine others injured in a shooting in a tram in the central Dutch city. Police suspects a 37-year old Turkish – origin man, identified as Gokmen Tanis.

Police said the suspected gunman was at large and authorities raised the terrorism threat to its highest level in Utrecht province. Schools were told to shut their doors and paramilitary police increased security at airports and other vital infrastructure. Security was stepped up at mosques.

“Several shots were fired in a tram and several people were injured. Helicopters are at the scene and no arrests have been made,” said police spokesman Joost Lanshage.

Prime Minister Mark Rutte said he was deeply concerned about the incident and convened crisis talks.

The incident comes after a lone gunman killed 50 people in mass shootings at two mosques in the city of Christchurch, New Zealand, last Friday.

The gun violence is increasing day by day. The worst part is, it is not limited to USA. Peaceful countries like New-Zealand and the Netherlands are also witnessing such atrocious crimes. It sometimes makes me wonder if we are really civilized?

Karachi Bakery in Bengaluru forced to cover signboard amidst protests

A Karachi Bakery outlet in Bengaluru was forced to cover up the word ‘Karachi’ on its main name board on Friday. The protesters claimed that they believed Karachi Bakery was a Pakistan-based outlet. This comes more than a week after 44 CRPF personnel were killed in a terror attack in Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

The mob refused to disperse from the bakery and continued to protest from 8 pm to 8:30 pm. To placate the crowd, the establishment covered up the word “Karachi” in its signboard and put up an Indian flag. There was no property damage or violence at the site. Despite the protest, the bakery continued to operate until its scheduled closing time of 11 pm.

Karachi Bakery is not a Pakistan-based outlet. It was started in Hyderabad in 1953 by Khanchand Ramnani, who migrated from Karachi during the Partition. It has since grown into a nationwide franchise.

This is however not the first time that Karachi bakery is becoming a target. In 2016, they faced a boycott campaign, as they were reported to be selling Israeli dates as part of Ramadan gift hamper. Many social media users said that sentiments of Muslims were hurt as they perceive Israel to be an aggressor in the ongoing occupation of Palestine.

The nation has seen an increase in the number of attacks targetting Kashmiris. The link between those incidents and this one is the lack of knowledge. A mob can be incited easily if the goal is similar and requires violence. They don’t care about knowing the history of a place. People running the Karachi Bakery are Indians and doesn’t have any connection with Pakistan. Please maintain peace and think before attacking. We are somehow injuring our nation only through these actions.
