Since August five three politicians were detained along with many others and were kept under house arrest after the Centre abrogated the temporary special status granted to the state under the Constitution. The Jammu and Kashmir administration will release these three politicians.

The politicians namely Yawar Mir a former MLA of the PDP from Rafiabad assembly sear, Noor Mohammed a National Conference worker who has been managing the party’s show in the militancy-infested Batmaloo area of the Srinagar city and Shoiab Lone who have unsuccessfully contested on a Congress ticket from North Kashmir and later resigned from the party will be released by the administration under various grounds. These include the signing of a bond explaining the grounds for their release.

He will be signing a bond before his release to maintain peace and good behavior. There were many others who were detained after August 5 which also included former chief minister Farooq Abdullah, Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti. There were over 250 who were sent to the jail outside J&K. Farooq Abdullah was subsequently detained under the Public Safety Act, while other politicians were mostly detained under different sections of the criminal procedure code.
